The Deer Park Fencers Club offers classes through the auspices of the City of Deer Park, Parks & Recreation Department. We meet on Tuesday evenings at the Avon Recreation Center, 601 W. 8th Street, Deer Park, TX, 77536. The fee for classes is $45.00 per month.

CADET CLASS: This is the basic fencing class. Each class covers basic footwork and blade work, with the final class of the month given over to fencing with the same electric/electronic scoring systems as used at tournaments. The focus rotates between foil, epee and sabre from month to month. No prior experience is required. Loaner equipment is available for the class.

COMPETITIVE CLASS: This is for our fencers who compete at local tournaments. The fencers in this class are expected to provide all or most of their equipment. Limited loaner gear is available but limited to the weapon the Cadet class is studying. Fencers with their own equipment may fencing the weapon of their choice.
