On this page you will find a quartet of old videos... very old. While much in fencing has changed over the decades and centuries, much that is basic and fundamental remains the same. These videos also have the advantage of being silent. No lengthy, verbose descriptions of method and intent. The actions are demonstrated. Discussion is saved for our class meetings.

The first video, dating to the 1930s, represents the teachings of the great American Maestro Julio Martinez.

The next three are taught by the great Giorgio Santelli, a fencer who understood and represented both ends of the fencing spectrum. As a young man he fought a duel with sharp sabres on behalf of his father's honor. He later became one of our US Olympic Fencing Coaches.
